Most asked questions about Cornerstone Chapel

What are your plans for a new church building?

Check out our building project website, www.makinghimknown.net

What are your services like?

Each of the four weekend services is the same (Saturday at 6:00 p.m. and Sunday at 9:00, 10:15 & 11:30 a.m.). We spend the first 20 minutes singing songs of praise and worship to God. You’ll hear a few announcements about what is going on in the life of the church and have the opportunity to greet others from the congregation. The rest of our time is spent listening as Pastor Gary teaches from God’s Word. We believe that God’s Word has the power to change lives. So bring your Bible and get ready to listen to what God has for you! If you don't have a Bible, we have one for you to use and take home with you. If you would like prayer after the service, the pastors are available at the front of the sanctuary.

What's available for my children?

We have quality care and ministry available for children of all ages during all four of our Sunday morning services and our Wednesday evening service. This gives them the opportunity to be taught about God and His love for us on their age level. If you would prefer to be with your children during the service, we have a large screen TV in our Fellowship Hall that will allow you to watch and listen to the sermon. More information about the Children's Ministry is available at the Information Booth and on our website.

Where should I park?

We are aware of the limited parking space available and have begun a parking ministry to help you find the closest spot to the church. Additional parking is also available on Miller Drive.

I couldn't make it to church last week. Can I get a copy of the service?

We have CDs and DVDs of the service available at our Media booth located in the Fellowship Hall. You can also watch and listen to the church service by clicking on the Teaching Library link on the front page of our website. Podcasting of our services is now available! Be sure to subscribe to our iTunes podcasts. You can also watch the service live on our website every Sunday morning and Wednesday evening.

Cornerstone is a large church. How can I get involved?

There are many opportunities to serve and get involved in the life of the church. However, knowing where to start can be difficult. Start by looking in the bulletin for current activities and service opportunities. You can also surf the website for more information about men's and women's Bible studies, home groups, and Sunday school classes. You are invited to call the church with any questions that you have regarding any ministry in the life of the church.

What should I wear?

The attire at Cornerstone Chapel ranges from casual to dressy. God doesn't place value on how well someone is dressed and neither do we, in fact, the Bible warns us not to show favoritism based on clothing or appearance (James 2:1-13), so come as you are.

What does it mean to be affiliated with Calvary Chapel?

Our affiliation with Calvary Chapel provides us with accountability and fellowship with a credible ministry while still allowing us to maintain our independent, non-denominational status. Each Church is governed by its own leadership and selects its own pastors, elders, and deacons. Calvary Chapel is not a denomination. Calvary Chapel of Costa Mesa, CA (Chuck Smith, Pastor) was founded in 1965 with 24 members. It has since grown to a weekly attendance of more than 30,000 and has over 1,500 affiliate churches around the world. More information about Calvary Chapel and its church affiliates can be found at www.CalvaryChapel.com.
