Women’s Ministry

God’s desire for us as women is to know Him and share His love with others. Our desire at Cornerstone Chapel is to provide opportunities for this to take place.

Stay Connected during COVID-19!

While we may be unable to meet together under COVID-19 restrictions, there are still many ways women of Cornerstone can connect online.

Women’s Bible Reading

Miscarriage Support Group

A miscarriage can be a painful and confusing event. This group provides a safe place to seek support, comfort, guidance, and healing with other women who have experienced miscarriages. With the support of each other and reliance on our ultimate Healer, we pray that you will find healing in your recovery process. If you would like to know when the next support group starts, are in need of prayer or have questions, please email Marjie at marjoriee.lesser@gmail.com.

*The next group will start in Fall 2020.

Surrendering the Secret: Healing the Heartbreak of Abortion

Close to 1 out of 3 women in the United States have experienced an abortion. Many struggle for years with repressed memories, guilt, shame, and depression. If you feel you have never completely healed or recovered from an abortion experience, or that a past abortion may be affecting your current quality of life, know that God yearns to give you hope, healing, and peace. Surrendering The Secret is an eight-week, biblically-based study led by women who have been where you are. Our hope and prayer is to provide a compassionate and confidential environment that will bring healing and restoration through God’s Word.

If you have had an abortion in your past and would like to attend one of the next studies, have questions, or are in need of prayer, please email Cynthia at cynthia37h@gmail.com. This group meets at an off-site location. Your privacy will be closely guarded. The spring study is currently closed. Contact Cynthia if you’d like to attend the next study.

Widows’ Ministry Opportunities

Widows’ Lunch Fellowship
The loss of a spouse is life-altering and often devastating beyond words. Finding God through such pain and confusion may be hard. The Widows’ Fellowship meets one Sunday a month for lunch and to support each other in sharing praise and prayer requests. They simply desire to love Christ, love one another, and keep their eyes fixed upon Christ to allow Him to create something beautiful in the midst of great loss. If you would like more information about our fellowships, please email Marilyn at widowsfellowship@cornerstonechapel.net or call the church office at (703) 771-1500.

Widow to Widow: Encouragement for the Journey
Meeting every fourth Saturday of the month
9:30–11:30 a.m. in the Cafe
Led by Sue Dengler
Childcare available upon request
We will not be meeting on Saturday, June 27.

This ministry provides encouragement through God’s Word and from widows who are farther along their journey. We will study the truths of Scripture, share about God’s faithfulness in our lives, and pray for our needs as widows. This group is for women in all stages of the journey. If you need childcare to attend, have questions or need prayer, please email Sue at widowtowidow@gmail.com.

Women’s Knitting & Crocheting Group
Do you love to knit or crochet or want to learn how to? Would you like to meet other ladies and fellowship together while knitting or crocheting? Then we encourage you to join our knitting & crocheting group! We will meet twice a month. If you are interested in joining the group or have questions, please email Carolyn at carolyngazdick@gmail.com for more info.

Bread of Life Support Group
If you are struggling or have struggled with an eating disorder such as compulsive overeating, binge eating, anorexia, or bulimia, you are not alone. Bread of Life invites women to experience abundant life in Christ, free from food bondage.
