The book of 2 Samuel picks up where 1 Samuel left off-the death of King Saul. Ironically, the account in 2 Samuel 1 tells us that a young Amalekite man “finished Saul off” after Saul had been critically wounded in battle. It’s ironical because the man was an Amalekit-the very people Saul was instructed as king to destroy. But he didn’t. The one thing that Saul was supposed to destroy came back to destroy him! How can we fight the battle of the flesh so that we are not destroyed in a similar way? That’s the topic of today’s study with Pastor Gary Hamrick.
